FIRST HALF TERM

TOPIC THEMES – Les Fruits, Les Légumes (vegetables), Au Marché (at the market), Revision of Numbers 1 – 20

VOCABULARY – This term we have been learning the names of the following fruits: ‘La banane’, ‘l’orange’, ‘la poire’ (pear), ‘la pomme’ (apple), ‘du raisin’ (grapes), ‘la fraise’ (strawberry), ‘l’ananas’ (pineapple), ‘la cerise’, ‘la pêche’ (peach), ‘l’abricot’ (apricot), ‘le citron’ (lemon), ‘le kiwi’. We have also been learning the following vegetables: ‘la carotte’, ‘le chou’ (cabbage), ‘la tomate’, ‘le radis’ (radish), ‘le champignon’ (mushroom), ‘des petits pois’ (peas), ‘la pomme de terre’ (potato), ‘le poireau’ (leek), ‘du maïs’ (corn), ‘l’oignon’ (onion), ‘la courgette’, ‘des brocolis’. Next we practised buying food at the market using the following vocabulary - ‘les fruits’, ‘les légumes’ (fruit and vegetables), ‘la laitue’ (lettuce), ‘des fleurs’ (flowers), ‘je voudrais’ (I would like…), ‘c’est combien?’ (How much is it?)

TOPIC THEMES – Revision of Numbers 20 - 30, Les Animaux (animals)

VOCABULARY – For the rest of the term we will be learning the following animals: ‘le chien’ (dog), ‘le chat’ (cat), ‘le lapin’, (rabbit), ‘le poisson rouge’ (goldfish), ‘le hamster’, ‘la souris’, ‘le cheval’ (horse), ‘la vache’ (cow), ‘le mouton’ (sheep), ‘le cochon’ (pig), ‘le canard’ (duck), ‘la poule’ (hen), ‘le coq’ (cockerel), l'âne (donkey), ‘le singe’ (monkey), ‘le crocodile’, ‘le lion’, ‘la girafe’, ‘le serpent’, ‘le tigre’, ‘le perroquet’ (parrot), ‘le zèbre’ (zebra), ‘le kangourou’.

FIRST HALF TERM:
TOPIC THEMES – Hours(and numbers), days of the week, vegetables
VOCABULARY – ‘Quelle heure est-il?’ (what time is it ?) ‘Il est 2 heures…/il est midi’ (it is 2 o’clock / it is midday) Les jours de la semaine = lundi, mardi mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche(days of the week=Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Les légumes = un chou, une carotte, une tomate, des pommes de terre, un oignon, un poireau, un champignons, des petis pois, du mais, du brocoli, des radis, un chou-fleur (vegetables = cabbage, carott, tomato, patatoes, onion, leek, mushroom, peas, sweet corn, broccoli, radishes, cauliflower)
Je voudrais….s’il vous plait, j’aime/ je n’aime pas (I would like…please, I like/I don’t like)

FOR THE REST OF THE TERM WE WILL COVER:
TOPIC THEMES –Holidays, weather, revisions
VOCABULARY : Les vacances= la valise, le passeport, les sandales, les lunettes de soleil, le chapeau, le maillot de bain, la crème solaire (holidays = suitcase, passport, sun glasses, hat, swimsuit, sun cream)
‘Quel temps fait-il ? il fait chaud/froid, il fait beau/mauvais, il fait soleil/il pleut…il fait du tonnerre ! (What’s the weather like ? It is hot/cold, it is nice/it is bad, it’s sunny/it’s raining…it thunders!)
FESTIVALS: La fête des pères (father’s day)
SONGS – « Pour faire une soupe » (to make a soup), « Lundi, mardi… » « dans ma valise, il y a »
